You made the sale. Why does the configurator get a cut?
You sell things people want their way. A hat in their colour. A table that fits their room. Customising is the reason they buy from you instead of from a warehouse.
So you went looking for a configurator, and the bill came in four parts.
A percentage of every configured sale. Not of the profit. Of the sale. You did the work, you carried the stock, and the app takes a slice on the way out.
A cap on products. Ten on Zakeke's starter plan (checked 8 September 2026). Your range grows, so your plan has to grow with it.
A setup quote with a comma in it. Somebody has to build the thing, and that somebody costs thousands.
And the sentence that stops most merchants before they start: "You need a 3D model first." You have photos. You have the flat file from your printer. You do not have a 3D model, and the app is not offering to make one.
Then there is what you were told about 3D itself. That it costs a fortune. One 2D configurator's own article says the cost of 3D "can easily reach" $5,000 to $15,000 per product (Kickflip, 2 February 2026). The people telling you 3D is too expensive sell 2D.
That is the configurator tax. You have either been paying it, or it has been keeping you out of 3D.
How does Orbit3D work?

Talk to the assistant, in your own language.
Describe what shoppers can choose and what each choice costs. The assistant reads your 3D file, builds the options, the prices and the link from each option to the part it changes, then checks the file for problems.

Approve and go live.
Nothing publishes until you click approve. Saying yes in the chat never publishes. Your call, every time.

One model, every size, in real units.
You upload one file. The shopper picks a size and the table resizes live.

Engraving appears where it will be engraved. Uploaded artwork lands on the part you allow.

Options that show or hide other options.
Pick a feather and the feather colours appear. Pick none and they stay out of the way.

Checkout charges exactly what they built.
The price on the page is the price on the order. Not a promise. A signature.
When a shopper adds a configured product to the cart, our server works out the price and signs it. Shopify checks that signature at checkout and applies the same numbers. A price edited in the browser is refused, not discounted.
A second, independent check runs at checkout. If any configured line claims a price your store did not sign, the order is refused outright. The failure it prevents is a quiet one: a configured product slipping through at the plain product price.
Tested on a live store on 12 September 2026: one order carried 26 different configured products, 40 units and over $60,000. Every price was right.

What does a percentage cost you?

Competitor rates checked 2026-09-22 from Zakeke's Shopify listing and fee article, and from Kickflip's pricing page (re-checked 2026-09-22). Zakeke's fee is charged per item, is uncapped on plans activated since 7 November 2022, and is charged on cancelled orders too. Kickflip's rate only steps down above $100,000 of configured sales in a single month, so for most stores it stays at 1.95%. Orbit3D takes 0% on every plan. Orbit3D prices from the App Store listing, checked 2026-09-22. We re-check these rates before every publish.

Vera is MK-Way's AI 3D designer. She turns product photos and flat 2D files into configurable 3D models, cut into the parts your shoppers choose.
The usual answer to "I don't have a 3D model" is "go and get one". Ours is a member of the team. Vera runs MK-Way's 3D design department. She takes the photos you already have, or the flat file from your printer, and delivers a 3D model with every part separate and named, ready for Orbit3D to sell from. Not a tool you learn. A hire who delivers.
She works as a Claude Code skill, and she reports through Slack, GoHighLevel and monday.com, so a job for your store runs like any other job on our board.
Her record so far, measured: her first printed bowling ball, from three phone photos taken on a shop counter, went from pick-up to a review link in 1 hour 37 minutes, with no designer time. The second of its kind takes about ten minutes.
